In 1969 my dad laid 213 feet of skidmark on Swan just before he t-boned a Mercedes at the River Rd stop sign. He was driving a 1968 400 hp 427 4-spd big block convertible. He didn't get a ticket though. I was a little guy back then and he rebuilt that car at a time when you couldn't just buy a new front clip and glue it back on.

And that's where my love for the C3 started...

A little backstory on this one:
It sat in a carport down in Sierra Vista, AZ for almost 10 years before I bought it. The amount of dust and fine sand in everything was amazing.

The car was born red and I've just finished the re-paint and re-assembly. The white was actually the fourth paint job on the car! I razor bladed three layers of paint off the car!

The brakes are all new from the pedal to the pads.

Rebuilt the TH350 trans.

New engine. I have the matching numbers engine in storage and it needs a complete rebuild. It runs but the previous owner spun a couple bearings. Thankfully they didn't hurt the block.

I've made some subtle mods:
Removable rear window from a '71;

'74 taillights to delete the lens screws;

You'll notice C7 badges and C6 side view mirrors;

New front suspension with 450lb-in coils with polyurethane bushings. I cut a turn out of the front coils so it sits a couple inches lower up front. (Don't do that - they run - just get coil-overs.)

Taillights and markers are all LED;

I installed a more aggressive lower airdam up front. It hangs as low as factory and I like the wrap-around on the front wheel opening.

Changed the glove box doors to a single carpeted panel that gives it a smooth and updated look.

I'm running an Edelbrock AVS2 650 which gives me great throttle response.

The wheels are by American Racing. They are the 70's version five spoke Le Mans "daisy" style. It took several hours on each wheel to bring the shine back.

I've installed an L88 hood while doing the body work and I'm going to modify the center parking brake cover to be a real cup holder. And the rear suspension needs to be gone through. There's no adjustment left for an alignment.

The next thing on the to-do list is a 2-spd electric radiator fan. I'm going with a 621-353XD out of a police cruiser because it's a real close fit. That also means an alternator upgrade.

And I've got to fix the cupholder situation. I've got something custom in mind for the brake console because I don't like any of the Aftermarket widgets that are out there.
